How to Volunteer with
4th Fest
Every year, Central PA 4th Fest brings the community together to celebrate Independence Day with events, entertainment, and fireworks. None of it happens without volunteers.
Whether you want to help behind the scenes, enjoy time at Medlar Field, or spend the weekend supporting one of Central Pennsylvania’s favorite traditions, we’d love to have you join us.
Available Volunteer opportunites
July 3 - Event Set-Up Team
Approximate Shift Length: 3 Hours
Help prepare for the big celebration by assisting with:
Setting up materials for the 4K course
Organizing and placing supplies
Assisting with indoor setup at Medlar Field
Bonus: Volunteers are welcome to stay and enjoy the baseball game afterward.
July 4 - Festival Support Team
Shift: 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Location: Medlar Field
Assist with festival operations during one of the busiest and most exciting parts of the event.
Volunteer roles may include:
Guest assistance
Event support inside Medlar Field
Helping keep activities running smoothly
Supporting vendors, staff, and attendees
Bonus: Most volunteer roles are indoors at Medlar Field.
July 5 - Clean-Up Crew
Shift: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Primary cleanup will take place on July 5, with additional breakdown and final cleanup possibly continuing into July 6.
Help us wrap up another successful year by assisting with post-event cleanup.
This shift is perfect for volunteers who:
Don’t mind getting a little dirty
Enjoy hands-on work
Can assist with lifting, organizing, and breakdown tasks
Are comfortable driving UTVs (if applicable)
Reminder: Wear sunscreen, comfortable clothes, and closed-toe shoes.
